We utilize this method along with functional movements to help not only move blood but to also break up fascial adhesions that bind up muscles and joints. When indicated, after a simple short treatment our patients report an instant greater range of motion, reduction in pain, and fluidity of movement.
How is it done and what does it feel like?
Depending upon the injury/problem we apply one or more cups to the affected joint or fascial adhesion. You will experience a strong suction sensation. You are then instructed to move through a series of movement patterns. The suction will suck your skin, fascial tissue, and some muscle into the cup. The movement will require the skin to be freed from the muscle. As long as the cups are placed appropriately this process itself will break fascial adhesions that are creating pain.
Cupping is a centuries old practice in Chinese medicine that aids in moving stagnant blood to help facilitate healing.
